Houses built of straw, wood poles, bamboo and string (chozas de paja) were typical to this region in the eighteenth century. We have kept the traditional structure but refashioned with more windows to let in the light and an interior in keeping with modern living.

The Choza Grande was designed with a gathering of friends or family in mind. It has a spacious living-dining room with a loose white gravel floor (bring flip-flops or slippers), African rugs, antique sideboards and a large dining table. Beneath the mezzanine are two large sofas (both of which can be used as single beds), two armchairs and a staircase leading up to a sleeping platform beneath the eaves. Off the dining area you’ll find a rustic kitchen and off that an unusual, blue bathroom. Multiple windows in this Choza mean that sunlight streams through it all day long.
Set among 500 m₂ of private garden with a large picnic table in the shade of an ancient olive wild tree, this is our most secluded property. Although beautifully cool in the summer, some people need the electric heater in the winter. Regardless, many people return time and again to enjoy this unique and magical place to stay.
