Introduction

The Costa de la Luz is one of the most rewarding areas of Spain to visit when it comes to outdoor pursuits. Right on our doorstep you will find beautiful walks, horse riding, biking, paragliding, surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, scuba diving, sailing, canoeing, tennis, golf, trekking, rock climbing and canyoning adventures. You will also enjoy stunning sunsets and immense starry nights.

The local Pueblos Blancos (white villages) are rich in history and culture. Roman ruins are scattered about the hills and you’ll find vestiges of our Moorish past all over. With Morocco just across the water (Tangier is 35 minutes on the boat from nearby Tarifa), you can easily combine a visit to the South of Spain with a day or overnight trip to North Africa. Tarifa is also home to numerous whale and dolphin watching expeditions, and all along this coast you can enjoy excellent bird watching and visit the world´s largest dovecote in San Ambrosio (between Barbate and Los Caños de Meca).

Understandably the area has attracted a thriving artists and writers community and you’ll often find arts and crafts workshops as well as alternative lifestyle treatments, such as flower remedies, and flamenco. Please ask in the office about stuff going on during your visit.

What people say about us
